Тепер Twitter буде здійснювати моніторинг твітів користувачів і видаляти ті з них, які будуть запідозрені у плагіаті. Компанія вирішила вдатися до таких дії після отриманих скарг на те, що деякі записи в соціальній мережі «крадуться» іншими користувачами, пише Media Sapiens

 

Письменниця Ольга Лексвелл опублікувала в Twitter жарт і потім помітила, що деякі акаунти репостили його без посилання на джерело. Вона звернулася до керівництва Twitter з заявою, що використання її жартів подібним чином порушує її право інтелектуальної власності. 

Пізніше користувачі, на чиїх сторінках було опубліковано жарт письменниці без її дозволу, виявили, що такі твіти були видалені, а на їх місці значився напис «Цей твіт від (ім'я користувача) був вилучений у зв'язку з зверненням власника авторських прав».

Як свідчать результати дослідження Pew Research Center, 63% американських користувачів розглядають Facebook та Twitter як джерело новин. Цей показник помітно зріс порівняно з 2013 роком, коли близько половини користувачів (52% у Twitter і 47% у Facebook) казали, що використовують соціальні платформи для отримання новин.
