У січня 2014 року тодішній народний депутат від фракції ВО "Батьківщина" Арсен Аваков (а нинішній міністр внутрішніх справ) ледь не побився з колишнім народним депутатом від Партії регіонів Олегом Калашніковим в прямому ефірі на телеканалі ТВі,повідомляє ТСН

Нагадаємо, що Олега Калашнікова вбили сьогодні ввечері із вогнепальної зброї. 

Зауважимо, що під час обговорення Євромайдану політики почали переходити на особисті образи. Потім Аваков кинув пюпітром у Калашнікова і рушив назустріч своєму опонентові. Ведучий програми запобіг можливій бійці, попросивши політиків "бути інтелігентними і не ламати устаткування".

Пізніше Аваков на своїй сторінці в Facebook написав: "Боягузлива істота Калашніков. Після закінчення ефіру втік зі студії швидше, ніж я встиг зняти мікрофон. Друзі, естети - вибачте. Вибачте, що а) не стримався і б) за незавершену п'єсу".
