Ліберально-демократична партія Білорусії виступила за проведення референдуму щодо зміни виборчої системи і збільшення терміну президентських повноважень.
Про це повідомляє ВВС.
"Прийнято рішення ініціювати проведення в 2018 році одночасно з виборами депутатів до місцевих Рад депутатів Республіки Білорусь республіканського референдуму щодо зміни Конституції", - заявили в партії.
ЛДП запропонувала винести на референдум три питання: перехід на вибори депутатів всіх рівнів за пропорційно-мажоритарною системою, збільшення терміну повноважень депутатів обох палат парламенту і місцевих рад з 4 до 5 років, збільшення терміну повноважень президента з 5 до 7 років.
Ці зміни, вважають ліберал-демократи, дозволять "зміцнити політичну систему Республіки Білорусь, сприятимуть подальшій демократизації і розвитку громадянського суспільства, і зміцненню влади в країні".
Останній раз конституція Білорусії змінювалася в 2004 році. Тоді за підсумками референдуму з головного документа країни прибрали обмеження про два терміни для президента.
Нинішній президент Білорусії Олександр Лукашенко обіймає свій пост з липня 1994 року.
