Міністр закордонних справ Великої Британії Борис Джонсон заявив, що існує "реальна можливість" втручання Росії у британські парламентські вибори, що відбудуться 8 червня. Про це повідомляє Reuters.

Політик також заявив, що президент Росії Володимир Путін "зрадіє" в разі перемоги на виборах партії лейбористів на чолі з Джеремі Корбіном.

"Те, що він зробив в Америці, абсолютно очевидно, він зробив у Франції, в західній частині Балкан, тому ми повинні бути пильними", - сказав Джонсон.

Голова МЗС Британії також додав, Путін хотів "підірвати віру в демократію в цілому і дискредитувати весь демократичний процес".

Нагадаємо, раніше на місцевих виборах у Великій Британії, які відбулися 4 травня, перемогла Консервативна партія, очолювана прем'єр-міністром Терезою Мей.
