У додатку для обміну миттєвими повідомленнями Facebook Messenger з'явилася функція, що дозволяє шифрувати двосторонню особисту переписку за принципом end-to-end, пише видання Wired.

Сервіс отримав найменування Secret Conversations (Секретні бесіди), він доступний всім 900 мільйонам користувачів.

Функція дозволяє користувачам шифрувати свої повідомлення, тому ніхто не зможе їх прочитати, крім двох співрозмовників - навіть правоохоронні органи і спецслужби.

"Ваші повідомлення і так захищені, але Secret Conversations зашифровані на всьому шляху від одного пристрою до іншого", - наголошується в описі програми.

Користувач зможе також встановити час знищення повідомлень - від п'яти секунд до одного дня.

Для активації функції необхідно встановити останню версію. Режим Secret Conversations не встановлено за замовчуванням, а повинен вручну включатися для кожного режиму.
