Громадські діячі у Франції вимагають припинення трансляції французької версії російського пропагандистського телеканалу RT France, який розпочав мовлення 19 грудня.
З відповідним листом, який опублікувала газета Le Monde, вони 20 грудня звернулися до керівника Вищої ради з аудіовізуальних засобів Франції (CSA) Олів'є Шрамека, пише «Укрінформ».
 
«Ми звертаємося до вас, пане Шрамек, із проханням заради збереження громадянського спокою призупинити дію ліцензії на право мовлення на території Франції, яка була видана Russia Today», – йдеться в заяві. 

Підписанти листа також висловили здивування, що ліцензію у Франції було надано каналу, який раніше публічно критикував президент країни Еммануель Макорон.

«... Європарламент застеріг від дезінформації, що чиниться з боку Росії, та вживає кроків для боротьби з цим (резолюція 2016/2020), відповідно надання дозволу на трансляцію може лише спровокувати глибоке непорозуміння, якщо не обурення», – зазначається в зверненні. 

Під листом поставили свої підписи письменниця Галя Акерман, головний редактор журналу Philosophie magazine Мішель Ельчанінофф, історик та богослов Антуан Аржаковський, викладачі університетів П'єр Косса та Ірина Дмитришин, перекладач Елен Сінані та інші громадські та культурні діячі Франції.

Перший заступник голови комітету Ради Федерації Росії з міжнародних справ Володимир Джабаров заявив агентству «РИА Новости», що якщо Франція відкличе ліцензію, то Росія введе аналогічні заходи щодо французьких ЗМІ. 

Телеканал RT France очолила Ксенія Федорова. Мовник отримав 1,22 млрд рублів (близько 500 млн грн) для запуску мовлення французькою в 2017 році.
