16 травня під час пленарного засідання Конотопської міської ради (Сумська область) позаштатній кореспондентці газети «Сумщина» Інні Панченко облили фарбою обличчя. Про це повідомляє Інститут масової інформації (ІМІ).

Зазначено, що інцидент стався під час конфлікту між прибічниками і противниками міського голови Конотопа Артема Семеніхіна. Окрім журналістки, постраждав також депутат Сумської облради Сергій Демеха та кілька активістів.

За словами редактора газети «Сумщина» Сергія Моші, журналістка незадовго до цього висвітлювала політичне протистояння в Конотопі – 27 квітня 2017 року у номері 17 газети вийшов її матеріал «Конотопські пристрасті: поразка мера чи звичайний “договірняк"».

ІМІ повідомляє, що поліція відкрила кримінальне провадження за ст.296 ч.2 Кримінального Кодексу України («Хуліганство»).

Начальник Головного управління Національної поліції в Сумській областіМикола Лушпієнко призначив проведення службового розслідування силами апарату Головного управління поліції області із залученням представників громадськості та членів депутатського корпусу Конотопа.

Прес-секретар Нацполіції області Ельвіра Біганова повідомила, що до Конотопа виїхали працівники слідчого управління ГУНП та обласної прокуратури для збору матеріалів по кримінальному провадженню, у результаті чого буде, зокрема, вирішено, чи кваліфікувати порушену справу за статтею 171 ККУ («Перешкоджання законній професійній діяльності журналіста»).
