Комітет захисту журналістів (Committee to Protect Journalists) закликав російську владу забезпечити безпеку незалежного журналіста Михайла Афанасьєва.
 

Пан Афанасьєв працює редактором мережевого журналу «Новий фокус», що видається в сибірської республіці Хакасія. Глава одного з діючих в сусідньому регіоні кримінальних угруповань погрожує вбити журналіста за критичні репортажі про діяльність його банди, повідомляє Media Sapiens з посиланням на CPJ.

«Ми закликаємо владу Республіки Хакасія і сусіднього Красноярського краю негайно провести розслідування щодо погроз на адресу Михайла Афанасьєва і подбати про безпеку його самого і його сім'ї, - заявила координатор Програми Європи і Центральної Азії CPJ Ніна Огнянова.

«Це обурливо, коли журналісту доводиться жити в страху в зв'язку з його роботою, а ті, хто йому загрожує, насолоджуються свободою через бездіяльність правоохоронних органів. Ось так і розквітає безкарність, яка тягне за собою насильство по відношенню до журналістів», - зазначила вона. Комітет також звернув увагу на те, що Михайло Афанасьєв і раніше отримував погрози та ставав жертвою нападів за свою професійну діяльність.

Як писав раніше MediaSapiens, у Росії блогера засудили до двох років колонії за пост у ЖЖ. У ньому блогер Олексій Кунгуров виступив з критикою російської військової операції у Сирії.
