Група американських сенаторів підготувала законопроект, який дозволить накласти вето на можливе зняття президентом Дональдом Трампом санкцій з Росії. Про це пише CNN.

За інформацією агентства, серед ініціаторів законопроекту сенатори і від Республіканської, і від Демократичної партії: Ліндсі Грем, Бен Кардін, Джон Маккейн, Марко Рубіо, Клер Маккаскілл і Шеррод Браун.

Документ буде представлений в сенаті вже сьогодні. Згідно із законопроектом, якщо адміністрація Трампа захоче зняти санкції з Росії, то їй спочатку доведеться надати Конгресу детальне обґрунтування цього рішення, а потім настане період в 120 днів, протягом якого конгресмени вирішать, чи потрібно їм погоджуватися з президентом.

"Все більша кількість сенаторів від обох партій виступають проти можливого рішення про зняття санкцій щодо Росії. Цей крок шести сенаторів є останнім попередженням від Капітолійського пагорба до нової адміністрації щодо американо-російських відносин", - йдеться в повідомленні.

Сенатор Марко Рубіо вважає, що законопроект про зняття санкцій з РФ не пройде в Конгрес.

"Я думаю, що якби існувала реальна загроза скасування санкцій і прояву неповаги до українського суверенітету, то ми б мали голоси, щоб накласти вето", - сказав він.
