У Туреччині поліція в Стамбулі завадила активістам провести заборонений марш за права ЛГБТ.

Організатори маршу пообіцяли пройтися маршем на центральній площі Таксім, попри заборону проводити гей-парад через проблеми з безпекою після погроз ультранаціоналістичної групи.

Силовики не дозволили групам людей перейти на проспект Істіклял, де організатори планували провести мітинг.

Як заявили активісти і свідки, поліцейські стріляли гумовими кулями, щоб розігнати одну з груп людей, затримали кількох людей.

Гей-парад в Стамбулі проходив більше десяти років до 2015 року, тоді поліція завадила проведенню параду, використавши сльозогінний газ і водомети.

У березні 2014 року в Стамбулі у параді взяли участь до 100 тисяч людей, це стало однією з найбільших подій "ЛГБТ-прайду" в мусульманському світі.

У Туреччині гомосексуалізм не заборонений, але повідомляється про звинувачення в дискримінації геїв.
