Раніше журналістка написала колонку в газеті Metro, де різко розкритикувала чинного президента Туреччини Реджепа Таїпа Ердогана. Згодом окремі уривки зі статті вона поширювала в Twitter.

У статті йдеться, серед іншого, і про документ, в якому турецьке консульство в Роттердамі закликає нідерландських турків повідомляти про будь-якому образі глави Туреччини Ердогана в нідерландських соціальних мережах.
