У столиці США Вашингтоні завершили спорудження меморіалу жертвам Голодомору в Україні 1932-33 років.

Як відзначають в українському дипломатичному представництві, участь у церемонії взяв посол України у США Валерій Чалий, пише Громадське.ТВ

У цьому заході також взяли участь автор проекту пам’ятника, архітектор Лариса Курилас, голова Американського комітету за визнання Голодомору геноцидом Михайло Савків, архітектори, ливарники, будівельники, які встановлювали монумент.

Автор – американка українського походження – переконана, що український Голодомор для багатьох американців і тепер є невідомою сторінкою з історії.

Офіційне відкриття меморіалу відбудеться 7 листопада – напередодні щорічних пам’ятних заходів, на яких українці всього світу вшановують загиблих від рук сталінського режиму співвітчизників.
