В українській «Вікіпедії» з 23 березня по 23 квітня триває місяць українського футболу. Він має на меті за допомогою написання енциклопедичних статей популяризувати український футбол.

Як зазначають в організації, це вже п’ятий подібний заклик до співпраці на тему футболу у «Вікіпедії», але перший місячник, що охоплює винятково теми українського футболу,пише Media Sapiens

У «Вікіпедії» укладено список статей, які учасники могли б написати з цієї теми. Зокрема, у найбільшій онлайн-енциклопедії бракує фотографій спортсменів, тому долучитися можуть ті, хто має власні світлини й хоче ними поділитися.

Нагадаємо, з 30 січня по 1 лютого в україномовній «Вікіпедії» проходив флешмоб із написання нових статей, присвячений 11-річчю українського розділу найпопулярнішої у світі онлайн-енциклопедії.

Перший Вікіфлешмоб , що відбувся 27 квітня 2014 року, був присвячений пам’яті Героя України Ігоря Костенка, який загинув 20 лютого 2014 року під час розстрілів активістів Майдану на вулиці Інститутській. За життя Ігор був активним дописувачем «Вікіпедії» і прагнув реалізувати ідею Вікіфлешмобу. У серпні 2014-го засновник онлайн-енциклопедії «Вікіпедія» Джиммі Вейлз (Jimmy Wales) оголосив Ігоря Костенка вікіпедистом року.
