Оприлюднення "панамських документів" про офшори відомих політиків і бізнесменів організувала Росія.

Так вважає американський економіст Кліффорд Гедді, передає depo.ua з посиланням на The Washington Post.

Одним з основних аргументів на користь свого припущення Гедді називає той факт, що в опублікованих "панамських документах" ім'я президента Росії Володимира Путіна не згадується, а практично вся інформація, хоч якось з ним пов'язана, маловідома.

Крім того, автор теорії бачить вигоду Росії від публікації архіву: після викриття ряду західних лідерів у користуванні офшорними схемами Росію вже не будуть настільки завзято звинувачувати в аналогічних проблемах.

На думку економіста, доступ до документів панамської юридичної компанії Monssack Фонсека могли отримати російські хакери за підтримки сил фінансової розвідки.

Нагадаємо, що 3 квітня  Міжнародний консорціум журналістів-розслідувачів задокументував велику мережу тіньових грошових переказів, які використовуються іменитими власниками з багатьох країн. Всього в зборі інформації та підготовці доповіді брали участь 380 журналістів із майже 80 країн світу. У розслідуванні журналісти посилаються на "безпрецедентний витік мільйонів документів" з бази даних Mossack Fonseka, четвертої за величиною в світі офшорної юридичної фірми.
