За 13 років існування Українська «Вікіпедія» поповнилась 677 тис. статей, а її сторінки отримують близько 50 млн переглядів щомісяця.

На відзначення Дня народження «Вікіпедії» громадська організація «Вікімедіа Україна» ініціювала марафон із написання статей у Wikipedia. Упродовж трьох днів було створено 2031 статтю, із них 428 — автоматизованими програмами (ботами).

Сьогодні Українська «Вікіпедія» посідає 16-е місце у світі за кількістю статей, а за рік енциклопедію переглядають понад 500 млн разів. Більше фактів про вільну енциклопедію в інфографіці:

Раніше MediaSapiens писав про те, що прем'єр-міністр Володимир Гройсман доручив органам виконавчої влади сприяти розвитку україномовного розділу «Вікіпедії».

Нагадуємо, що в грудні мережева енциклопедія «Вікіпедія» представила список статей, які найчастіше виправляли таі редагували в 2016 році. Найбільше змін зазнали статті про знаменитостей, які пішли з життя в 2016 році: співака Девіда Боуї, боксера Мухаммеда Алі, астронавта Джона Гленна-молодшого та інших. В цілому матеріали категорії «Померли в 2016 році» зазнали 18,230 правок, пише Digital Trends. Також 8933 рази редагували матеріал про Дональда Трампа. Багато правок було внесено й в інші статті, пов'язані з виборами у США: «Президентські вибори в США», «Підтримка президентської кампанії Гілларі Клінтон» і «Президентські "праймеріз" Республіканської партії».
