Австралія 2 липня обирає новий склад федерального парламенту: Палати представників (150 місць) і Сенату (76 місць).

Згідно з опитуваннями, незначна перевага є у Ліберальної партії – 51%, в той час як за Лейбористську готові віддати свої голоси 49% виборців, повідомляє Укрінформ.

Прем'єр-міністр Австралії Малколм Тернбулл проголосував у виборчому окрузі в Сіднеї, де підкреслив, що очолювана ним Ліберально-національна коаліція "працює на перемогу".

Лідер опозиційної лейбористської партії Білл Шортен також вже проголосував і заявив, що "все зробив для перемоги і готовий очолити уряд".

Партія, яка отримає на виборах більшість місць у Палаті представників сформує уряд, а її лідер стане прем'єр-міністром Австралії.
