Президент Болівії Ево Моралес, імовірно, не зможе вчетверте балотуватися на пост президента країни.

Згідно з даними екзит-полів, понад половина тих, хто проголосував на референдумі, де розглядалося це питання, не підтримали ініціативу, повідомляє Російська Служба ВВС.

"Одне опитування показало, що проголосували проти 52,3% тих, хто брали участь у виборах, інше - що проти нього виступив 51%", - йдеться у повідомленні.

Якщо після підрахунку голосів з'ясується, що народ все-таки проголосував "за", то Моралес може залишитися президентом до 2025 року.

Опозиція заявляє, що правління протягом дев'ятнадцяти років поспіль може дуже негативно вплинути на стан демократії в країні. Сам президент стверджує, що четвертий термін потрібен йому для завершення соціальних реформ.

У Болівії президент обирається на загальних виборах на п'ятирічний термін. Востаннє президентські вибори пройшли в 2014 році.
