Китайський робот-репортер Сяо Нань опублікував у місцевій газеті свій перший матеріал.

Текст складався з 300 символів (ієрогліфів) і був присвячений навантаженню на транспортну систему країни напередодні китайського Нового року. Написання тексту зайняло у робота всього одну секунду, пише Media Sapiens

За словами професора Пекінського університету Ван Сяоцзюня (Wan Xiaojun), який очолює групу розробників, робот може створювати як короткі новини, так і довгі статті. Окрім того, Сяо Нань може аналізувати дані.  «Якщо порівнювати робота із репортерами-людьми, то він вміє швидше писати тексти та краще аналізувати дані. Але він не вміє брати інтерв'ю, ставити додаткові питання, обирати кут подачі інформації», - коментує професор, наголошуючи, що повністю замінити людей роботи не зможе.

MediaSapiens публікував огляд усіх «за» і «проти» автоматизованого написання новин. Окрім швидкості роботи та автоматизованого навчання, роботизація може створити нові типи робочих місць в журналістиці. Втім, автоматизація не спрацює для усіх тем, які висвітлюють журналісти.
