В латвийском регионе Латгалия неподалеку от российско-латвийской границы появились активисты, агитирующие за его присоединение к России.

Об этом сообщает латвийское издание Diena,пишет  Европравда.

"Активисты приходят к людям домой, раздают буклеты и рассказывают о возможности присоединения Латгалии к России. Они ходят в школы и другие общественные учреждения. Кто-то говорил о деньгах, которые предлагаются лицам, занимающим руководящие должности, с призывом переходить на сторону этих агитаторов", - рассказал председатель совета Краславського края Гунарс Упениекс.

По его мнению, состоятельных людей подобная агитация не убедит, но "бедных проще убедить в том, что большой сосед может быть спасением".

При этом руководители других латгальських органов самоуправления не считают, что в регионе возникла угроза безопасности.

Председатель совета Лудзенского края Алина Генделе (Латгальская партия) утверждает, что, за исключением действий нескольких людей пожилого возраста в бывшей партии Линдермана, в городе и крае - спокойная обстановка.

"Почему так плохо думают о нашем крае? Вся молодежь отлично говорит на латышском языке. У нас живут самые большие патриоты Латвии! Людям здесь приходится больше думать о бытовых вещах, у них нет времени подписывать глупости", - прокомментировал ситуацию с безопасностью заместитель председателя совета Зилупского края.

Впрочем, в полиции безопасности не стали комментировать оперативные мероприятия в Латгалии. Полиция призывает жителей сообщать о действиях, направленных против территориальной целостности и конституционного строя Латвии.
