Скульптуры рабочих и военных были сняты первыми, так как их состояние самое плохое. Планируется завершить работы в среду – снять скульптуры крестьян и студентов. Подготовительные работы начались в воскресенье утром.

Скульптуры снимают потому, что они находятся в аварийном состоянии, но мэр Вильнюса Ремигиюс Шимашюс не скрывает, что реставрировать и возвращать их не планируется, пишет Delfi

Четыре скульптуры - рабочих, крестьян, студентов и военных - появились на мосту в 1952 году. Критики считают эти скульптуры частью советской пропаганды. По их мнению, скульптуры ранят людей, боровшихся за освобождение Литвы. Выступающие в защиту скульптур называют их частью истории.
