В лондонському аеропорту "Хітроу" в понеділок було скасовано та відкладено низку рейсів через протест активістів на злітній смузі.

Про це повідомляє Європейська правда з посиланням на  британське видання The Guardian.

Як зазначається, активісти, які боряться проти змін клімату, проникнули на північну злітно-посадкову смугу, де лягли, прикувавши себе один до одного ланцюгами.

Як зауважив речник маніфестантів, таким чином вони виступали проти розширення злітно-посадкової смуги в "Хітроу", що призведе до забруднення довкілля.

Протест призвів до відміни 13 рейсів, низку рейсів також було затримано.

За словами представника "Хітроу", акція мала "мінімальний вплив" на роботу аеропорту, який обслуговує близько 1300 рейсів щодня.

Лондонська поліція заарештувала 6 протестувальників.
