Несколько тысяч человек прошли маршем по улицам македонской столицы Скопье, протестуя против руководства консервативной правящей партии VMRO-DPMNE и их лидера Николая Груевского накануне досрочных выборов в декабре. Об этом сообщает EurActiv.

"Мы пишем историю, свержение режима, возвращаем нашу свободу", – заявил лидер оппозиции Зоран Заев на митинге перед зданием парламента.

Марш, организованный главной оппозиционной партией Социал-демократов, был проведен в день 75-летия антифашистского восстания Македонии против болгарских, итальянских и немецких оккупантов в начале Второй мировой войны.

Митинг стал первым массовым уличным протестом с июня, когда на акции выходили тысячи сторонников оппозиции и людей, которые поддерживают правительство.

Македония находится в глубоком политическом кризисе начиная с февраля 2015 года, когда Заев начал обнародовать записи, которые свидетельствуют о причастности чиновников высокого уровня коррупции и другим преступлениям.

Груевски ушел в отставку в январе после 10 лет при власти. В начале сентября политические партии Македонии договорились провести выборы 11 декабря.

Как известно, досрочные выборы в Македонии были сначала назначены на 24 апреля, однако из-за необеспечения необходимых условий перенесены на 5 июня.

Тогда же прошли масштабные акции протеста, участники демонстрации даже захватили канцелярию президента страны и атаковали здание Министерства юстиции.

Впоследствии Конституционный суд Македонии приостановил подготовку к выборам 5 июня, а депутаты приняли решение отменить досрочные парламентские выборы.
