В кинотеатрах США и Канады в знак протеста против политики президента США Дональда Трампа покажут фильм по книге Джорджа Оруэлла "1984". Об этом сообщает USA Today.

В акции участвуют 90 кинотеатров в 38 штатах страны. 

Показ экранизации антиутопии Джорджа Оруэлла состоится 4 апреля: именно в этот день главный герой Уинстон Смит сделал первую запись в своем нелегальном дневнике.

Продажи книги "1984" в США существенно возросли в прошлом месяце после заявления советника президента США Дональда Трампа Келлиэнн Конуэй об "альтернативных фактах".

В романе Оруэлла рассказывается о тоталитарном обществе, где, среди прочего, государство монополизирует средства коммуникации.
