Верховний суд Венесуели визнав неконституційним рішення опозиційного парламенту про відсторонення від влади президента Ніколаса Мадуро і заблокував його.


Про це повідомляє Радіо Свобода, посилаючись на телеканал TeleSur.

Раніше 9 січня опозиційна більшість у парламенті Венесуели оголосила, що Мадуро "залишив свій пост" через його бездіяльність у боротьбі з кризою.

При цьому депутати посилалися на положення статті конституції, яка допускає призначення нових виборів президента в разі визнання глави держави відсутнім на посаді.

У Венесуелі кілька років триває економічна криза. Відбуваються регулярні відключення води і світла, не вистачає продуктів харчування і ліків.

МВФ оцінює річну інфляцію в Венесуелі в 500%, називаючи її найбільшою в світі. Мадуро ж у всьому звинувачує опозицію і США, які нібито розв'язали "економічну війну".

У грудні 2015 року опозиція виграла парламентські вибори. З того часу парламент робить кроки для відставки Мадуро – зокрема, було розпочато збір підписів для референдуму про його відставку.

Депутати також намагалися розпочати проти Мадуро судовий процес. Однак уряд і Верховний суд країни, які як і раніше повністю контролюються прихильниками президента, блокували будь-які законодавчі ініціативи парламенту.
