Статья «Википедии» о катастрофах в гражданской авиации была отредактирована с IP-адреса, принадлежащего холдингу ВГТРК. Об этом сообщается в микроблоге «Госправок».

История правок «Википедии» показывает, что с адреса ВГТРК поменяли формулировку о виновных в крушении самолёта. До этой правки считалось, что его сбили «террористы самопровозглашенной Донецкой народной республики из ракетных установок "Бук", которые были получены террористами из Российской Федерации». Некто с IP-адреса, принадлежащего холдингу, изменил эту формулировку на «украинских военных».

Помимо этого, в ВГТРК уточнили число погибших по обновлённым данным, исправив число 295 на 298. Однако кто именно сбил самолёт (и был ли он сбит), до сих пор не установлено.

Микроблог «Госправки» был создан после инициативы американского программиста Эда Саммерса, запрограммировавшего Твиттер-бота на отслеживание правок крупных разделов «Википедии» с адресов парламента США. Вслед за его автоматическим микроблогом появились аналогичные проекты в разных странах, в том числе два в России — @RuGovEdits и @gruedits. Списки IP-адресов взяты из открытых источников.
