У передвиборній програмі партій Християнсько-демократичний союз (ХДС) канцлерки Ангели Меркель та баварського Християнсько-соціального союзу (ХСС) під керівництвом Горста Зеегофера згадується й питання конфлікту в Україні.

Ідеться, зокрема, про ситуацію у контексті європейської безпеки.

Нині "територіальна цілісність України поставлена під питання через російську агресію", зазначається у передвиборній програмі ХДС/ХСС у розділі, де йдеться про Європу та безпеку.

Християнські демократи зазначили, що "європейці повинні послідовніше, ніж раніше, брати свою долю у власні руки". Політичні сили заявили про важливість "Європи, що спроможна захищати свої інтереси і брати на себе міжнародну відповідальність (…) що, у разі потреби, також може спільно себе захистити".

Як зазначається в оприлюдненому на сайті ХДС документі: "Ми повинні усвідомлювати нашу геостратегічну відповідальність за свободу й мир і допомагати у залагодженні конфліктів неподалік від нас. Тому ЄС залучений до врегулювання конфлікту між Росією та Україною", - наголосили у своїй програмі ХДС/ХСС, а також закликали Росію виконувати Мінські угоди.

Нагадаємо, напередодні, 3 липня, партії Християнсько-демократичний союз (ХДС) на чолі з канцлером Німеччини Ангелою Меркель і баварський Християнсько-соціальний союз під керівництвом Горста Зеегофера схвалили спільну передвиборну програму для осінніх виборів до Бундестагу.
