Как второе по рангу лицо в государственной власти Соединенных Штатов Джо Байден обратил внимание на нарушение прав женщин в мире. Он посвятил свою речь теме фильма "Зона охоты" о насилии девушек в студенческих кампусах и пообещал вмешаться в ситуацию, "чтобы больше не было обиженных женщин".

По этому случаю вице-президент США объявил выход известной певицы Леди Гага, назвав ее "своей подругой". Певица исполнила песню из этого фильма.
