Міністерство культури та громадська організація "Вікімедіа Україна" закликають українців наповнювати вільну загальнодоступну мультимовну універсальну інтернет-енциклопедію "Вікіпедія" українськомовними статтями.

Про це сказано в повідомленні Мінкультури, передають Українські Новини.

"29-31 січня до 12-річчя українськомовної "Вікіпедії" громадська організація "Вікімедіа Україна" за підтримки Міністерства культури ініціювала проведення всеукраїнського флешмобу з написання статей українською мовою", - сказано в ньому.

На думку організатора акції, у такий спосіб українськомовна інтернет-енциклопедія, що сьогодні нараховує понад 600 тис. статей, може значно розширитися.

У рамках проведення акції нові статті створили співробітники заповідника "Софія Київська", історико-меморіального заповідника "Бабин Яр", Києво-Печерського історико-культурного заповідника, історико-меморіального заповідника "Биковнянські могили", музею "Меморіал жертв Голодомору", музею народної архітектури та побуту України в Пирогово, музею історії України в Другій світовій війні та музею літератури України.

У суботу з 11:00 до 12:00 у Києво-Печерському історико-культурному заповіднику буде проходити проект Wiki Takes Lavra, присвячений пам'ятникам заповідника, і флешмоб.

Протягом години учасники флешмобу будуть фотографувати визначні пам'ятки заповідника та завантажувати їх у "Вікіпедію".

Станом на 30 січня український розділ "Вікіпедії" містить 615 535 статей різної тематики.

За цим показником українська "Вікіпедія" посідає 16 місце серед всіх мовних розділів.

За даними за грудень 2014 року, українська "Вікіпедія" перебувала на 18 місці за переглянутими сторінками серед всіх мовних розділів енциклопедії.

Як повідомляли Українські Новини, міністр культури В'ячеслав Кириленко у квітні 2015 закликав українців до написання статей про історію та культуру у "Вікіпедії".

Українськомовна "Вікіпедія" вийшла на перше місце у світі за темпами зростання популярності в березні 2013.
