У День пам'яті загиблих у Другій світовій війні монумент Батьківщина-Матір у Києві прикрасили вінком зі стрічками. Як стало відомо ТСН, "нарядив" пам'ятник руфер Мустанг, який розмальовував зірку у Москві в синьо-жовті кольори.

Також на території меморіалу встановили інсталяцію "Україна в маках". Представляє собою інсталяція карту України вся територія якої, окрім окупованого Криму, прикрашена червоними квітками. Маківки на територію півострова, за задумом організаторів, мають особисто почепити президент Петро Порошенко та генсекретар ООН Пан Гі Мун.

Крім ранкового візиту, президент повернеться до меморіалу ввечері – о 22 годині має розпочатись творча програма – "Голоси героїв".
