Французская полиция сообщила о предотвращении покушения на президента страны Эммануэля Макрона.

По имеющейся информации, покушение на главу государства должно было состояться 14 июля во время парада на Елисейских Полях в честь Дня взятия Бастилии. Преступление готовил 23-летний мужчина из предместья Парижа, коммуны Аржантёй, приближенный к французским крайне правым.

Злоумышленник попал в поле зрения правоохранителей из-за своих сообщений в интернете, о намерениях приобрести оружие, типа автомата Калашникова, чтобы осуществить нападение. Во время задержания он пытался оказать сопротивление и угрожал полицейским кухонным ножом.

Отмечается, что мужчина в 2016 году был осуждён за призывы к осуществлению терактов. Тогда он говорил, что необходимо нападать на чернокожих, евреев, арабов и лиц нетрадиционной сексуальной ориентации. Тогда правоохранители дали ему оценку психически неуравновешенного, но при этом "сознательного и решительного" человека.
