Часто слышу от разных аналитиков и политиков одну и ту же фразу. "Путин ищет возможность сохранить лицо". Чаще всего эту фразу применяют в контексте Донбасса.

У меня один вопрос ко всем этим уважаемым господам. Вы это серьёзно? Думаете, Путину надо искать возможность сохранения лица?
Ему наплавать на все, в России уже давно ситуация, когда все будут говорить так, как он скажет. Такому как Путин плевать на наши попытки дать ему возможность "сохранить лицо". 

У Путина есть свои цели, и он от них никогда не отказывался, ни в одной ситуации. Поэтому давайте не заниматься самообманом и лучше искать возможности, как добиться своих целей, а не искать "эфемерные" возможности для Путина, которые ему просто не нужны.
