В Лондоне, согласно опросам, кандидат Лейбористской партии Садик Хан опережает консерватора Зака Голдсмита. В случае победы Хан может стать первым мусульманским мэром столицы Великобритании.

На других выборах социологи, однако, предсказывают потери для лейбористов. Это может еще больше осложнить позиции лидера оппозиции Джереми Корбина.

Избирательные участки открыты до 23 часов по среднеевропейскому времени. Первые результаты голосования ожидаются утром 6 мая.
