Представители наблюдательной миссии ЕС на Гаити осудили акты насилия, беспорядки и нарушения, сопровождавшие первый тур парламентских выборов в воскресенье. К сегодняшнему дню известно минимум о двух убитых во время выборов и о четырех раненых, пишет Еuronews.com

6 миллионов граждан Гаити избирали 20 сенаторов и 119 представителей палаты депутатов. На эти места претендовали 1853 кандидата.

Кандидат на сенаторский пост Оделинс Пьер недоволен: “Выборы не были справедливыми. Манипуляций хватало уже на уровне избирательных округов. Нередко люди приходили и видели, что их бюллетени уже заполнены”.

Понадобится ли Гаити второй тур, станет ясно в ближайшее время.

Из-за глубокого политического кризиса этому островному государству не удавалось избрать 
парламент с момента прихода к власти в 2011 году президента Мартелли. С января парламент страны оставался недействительным, так как истек срок полномочий депутатов прежнего созыва.
