Повторные президентские выборы в Австрии, назначенные на 2 октября, перенесены на неопределенный срок, сообщил на пресс-конференции министр внутренних дел страны Вольфганг Соботка, передает ВВС

Причиной переноса стал некачественный клей, которым запечатывали конверты для голосования по почте. В результате конверты с бюллетенями могли открыться. "Мы не можем оценить, сколько конвертов и какие именно могли открыться", - сказал Соботка.

О возможном переносе выборов Соботка говорил и на прошлой неделе, однако тогда окончательного решения принято не было. Сейчас обсуждаются разные даты следующих выборов. По словам Соботки, речь идет о 27 ноября или 4 декабря.

О проведении повторного голосования было объявлено, когда Конституционный суд Австрии аннулировал результаты второго тура выборов из-за многочисленных нарушений в ходе голосования.

Во втором туре принимали участие кандидат от крайне правой Австрийской партии свободы Норберт Хофер и бывший лидер партии "Зеленые" Александр Ван дер Беллен, который одержал победу с минимальным отрывом в 30 тысяч голосов.
