Статтю «Оновлена світова карта класифікації клімату Кеппена-Гейгера» процитували на Wikipedia близько 2,8 мільйона разів. Вона була опублікована в 2007 році в журналі Hydrology and Earth System Sciences. У ній вчені використали більш сучасні дані та оновили модель класифікації світового клімату, яка широко використовується у світі. Вперше її запропонував у 1884 році вчений Володимир Кеппен.

Над статтею працювали доктор Мюррей Піл, старший викладач кафедри інженерної інфраструктури в Мельбурнському університеті, професор географії Брайан Фінлайсон та професор-інженер Томас МакМахон.

«Ми вражені, абсолютно вражені числом цитувань», - розповів Брайан Фінлайсон. За його словами, вчених не дивує, що їх роботу цитують, але дивує, наскільки багато людей це роблять.  «Приємно, що дослідження, яке ми зробили, виявилося корисним для інших», - додав він.
