Доверенные источники Wall Street Journal сообщили изданию, что совет директоров Yahoo ведет активные переговоры о продаже интернет-бизнеса компании, а также принадлежащих ей 15% акций крупнейшей в Китае платформы электронной коммерции Alibaba. Косвенным подтверждением слухов стало то, что компания отменила свое участие в инвестиционной конференции Credit Suisse, которая состоялась во вторник, пишет AIN.ua

Львиную долю нынешней капитализации Yahoo составляет принадлежащий ей 15-процентный пакет акций Alibaba, который оценивается в $32 млрд. Еще один ценный актив — 35% доля в компании Yahoo Japan, которая оценивается в $8,5 млрд. Остальные инвестиции Yahoo плюс имеющиеся у компании средства тянут на $5,9 млрд. Что же до основного интернет-бизнеса Yahoo, то он оценивается компанией Cantor Fitzgerald всего в $3,9 млрд.

Деятельности исполнительного директора Yahoo Мариссы Майер долгое время вызывала противоречивые отзывы, однако в итоге Совет директоров сошелся во мнении, что Yahoo стагнирует и ситуация требует решительных действий.

На данный момент, по словам источников издания, рассматриваются два варианта:

  • продажа принадлежащей компании доли в Alibaba;
  • продажа интернет-бизнеса Yahoo.

Однако продажа интернет-бизнеса повлечет множество трудностей для покупателя в связи с особенностями взаимодействия компании с азиатскими подразделениями. Поэтому наиболее вероятным вариантом будет как раз продажа акций Alibaba. По крайней мере, на этомнастаивает один из инвесторов — Starboard Value LP.

Несмотря на то, что прибыль Yahoo из года в год падает, сайт yahoo.com (совместно с сопутствующими сервисами) остается третьим по посещаемости порталом в США.

Состоится сделка или нет, будет известно в течение ближайших нескольких недель. Однако нельзя забывать, что слухи о возможной продаже Yahoo ходят не впервые. Еще в 2008 году СМИ предсказывали продажу сервиса компании Microsoft, но сделка так и не состоялась.
