Реклама Радянського Союзу помітно вирізнялася серед реклами країн соціалістичного табору, а тим паче США, пише Gazeta.ua

Втім, вона все-таки існувала...

У більшості випадків реклама публікувалася у жіночих журналах. (Так-так, і вони існували.) Значною мірою, тематика стосувалася елементам догляду за собою та модним моделям одягу (різноманітні викройки у рубриці рукоділля) , дрібній побутовій техніці та "ідеальному" способу життя.

Увесь запропонований рекламний спектр був спрямований на підтримку "ідеальної" радянської людини. Саме рекламне різноманіття такого типу також підтримувало радянську ідентичність.

Громадяни Радянського Сюзу використовували один і той самий набір рекломаваних товарів (звісно, існують винятки - громадяни, що мали доступ до більш якісних, нерадянських, товарів) та керувалися однаковими рекламними посилами, що й об'єднували їх по всій країні.
