Видеосервис YouTube объявил о премьере собственных программ, сериалов и полнометражных фильмов, в которых снимутся популярные видеоблогеры.

Производство собственных сериалов и фильмов – часть стратегии YouTube по привлечению пользователей к своему платному сервису YouTube Red, сообщает Би-Би-Си.

Если раньше YouTube пытался привлекать платных пользователей с помощью звезд шоу-бизнеса – платные каналы на YouTube Red вели, помимо прочих, Мадонна и актер Эштон Кутчер – то теперь сервис делает ставку на YouTube-знаменитостей.

Как сообщили в компании, первой премьерой станет игровой сериал Scare PewDiePie, главную роль в котором сыграл популярный шведский комментатор видеоигр Феликс Кьеллберг, известный под псевдонимом PewDiePie. У канала Кьеллберга на момент написания заметки около 42 миллионов подписчиков. Создателями шоу выступили продюсеры сериала "Ходячие мертвецы".

Также в феврале планируется премьера документального шоу "Путешествие на остров единорогов" Лили Сингх (около 8 миллионов подписчиков). Кроме того, сервис выкупил права на один из фильмов компании DreamWorks Animation.

К слову, производство собственных шоу – стратегия, распространенная среди различных онлайн-кинотеатров. К примеру, сервис Netflix несколько лет назад снял собственное продолжение популярного сериала Arrested Development. В течение последних лет YouTube последовательно принимает меры по монетизации сервиса и привлечении пользователей на платной основе.

Шоу будут доступны только подписчикам сервиса YouTube Red с 10 февраля.
