Відеоплатформа YouTube запроваджує нову секцію для термінових новин (breaking news) у мобільні додатки та на домашню сторінку.

Новий розділ виглядає подібно до секцій з рекомендованими відео у десктопній версії та до секції рекомендованих відео в мобільному додатку. Як повідомляє Media Sapiens із посиланням на Android Police, зараз в секції домінують відео про теракт в Барселоні та про відставку радника президента США Стівена Беннона.

Наразі незрозуміло, чи цей розділ наповнюється автоматично за допомогою алгоритмів чи контент для нього підбирається вручну працівниками YouTube. Також невідомо, чи ця секція буде відображатися постійно, чи лише під час появи актуальних новинних циклів. За даними Android Police, поки що «термінові новини» з’явилися в користувачів США. YouTube офіційно не коментувала запровадження чи тестування нового розділу.

Як писав MediaSapiens, Facebook працює над запуском новинного сервісу з платною підпискою. За задумом, новий інструмент може допомогти новинним організаціям залучати більше платних підписок.
