Міжнародна неурядова організація Комітет захисту журналістів (CPJ) повідомила про незвично високу кількість випадків загибелі журналістів-міжнародників у зонах конфліктів: в 2014 році, за даними експертів, в різних точках планети загинули 60 представників преси,пише Корреспондент

"Незвично багато представників преси, які загинули через свою роботу в 2014 році, були журналістами-міжнародниками, кореспонденти перетинали кордони, щоб висвітлювати конфлікти і небезпечні ситуації на Близькому Сході, в Україні і Афганістані", - йдеться в щорічній доповіді організації.

Найнебезпечнішими для журналістів в 2014 році експерти організації визнали Сирію, Ірак, Україну, Сомалі, Ізраїль і палестинські території, Афганістан, Парагвай і Пакистан.

В Україні, як зазначає організація, в році, що минає, були відзначені перші випадки загибелі журналістів з 2001 року. "Випадки загибелі щонайменше п'яти журналістів і двох працівників ЗМІ в цьому році стали першими пов'язаними з журналістикою вбивствами, зафіксованими CPJ в Україні з 2001 року. Всі, крім одного, були журналістами-міжнародниками", - йдеться у повідомленні.
