Вчені прогнозують, що західні країни програють боротьбу з екстремізмом у мережі через свою лояльність. Про це йдеться у висновку експертів з Центру релігії та геополітики  і з аналітичної компанії Digitalis, передає ВВС.

Експерти повідомляють, що люди радикалізуються не тільки в соціальних мережах як повідомлялось раніше, а й під час пошуку в мережі Інтернет.

Існують навіть такі собі "приманки", коли людина шукає контент на тему "окупація" або "невіруючий", вона натикається на більш м’ягкий контент без насильства.

Але в результатах пошуку є також матеріали, які закликають до повалення демократичних систем і встановлення халіфату, тобто держави, яка керується мусульманськими законами.

Після цього, людина може наштовхнутися на більш екстремістський контент з закликами вбивати людей, які не є мусульманами.

Британський уряд, наприклад спробував боротись з екстремізмом, проте це стосувалось лише 5% від всього контенту, що проаналізували вчені.

Нагадаємо, Twitter заблокував 636 тис. акаунтів з середини 2015 року, в рамках боротьби з екстремізмом.

Голова європейського відділення компанії Google Метт Бріттін попросив вибачення за те, що реклама великих компаній і урядових організацій на відеосервісі YouTube опинилася поруч з матеріалами екстремістського характеру.
