Книга "Політ над Чорним морем" Ігоря Павлюка посіла перше місце за підсумками відкритого голосування.

Вперше український поет здобув перемогу на Туманному Альбіоні. Збірка поезій Ігоря Павлюка визнана книгою року у Великобританії, пише ZN.ua

10 листопада були опубліковані результати відкритого голосування. На думку читачів з усього світу і британського ПЕН-центру, кращою книгою в цьому році стала "Політ над Чорним морем" ("A Flight Over the Black Sea", переклав Стівен Комарницький).

Вірші Павлюка, зібрані в книзі, запрошують читача відправитися на прогулянку українським поліссям, описуючи зустрічні явища за допомогою витончених метафор.

Павлюк навчався у Ленінградському вищому військово-інженерному училищі, яке кинув на другому курсі, коли почав писати вірші. За це він був засланий до Забайкальської тайги будувати автомобільну дорогу з ув'язненими. Він є одним з найвідоміших поетів Європи. Твори Павлюка перекладені на кілька мов, включаючи англійську, французьку, польську, російську та японську.

У жовтні цього року український поет Сергій Жадан отримав престижну літературну преміюAngelus, якою у Польщі відзначають кращих авторів Центральної Європи. У 2013 році лауреатом цієї премії за книгу "Музей покинутих секретів" стала Оксана Забужко, а першим серед відзначених оргкомітетом у 2006 році був Юрій Андрухович за роман "Дванадцять обручів"
