Мешканці міста з українськими прапорами вишикувалися в “живий ланцюг” щоб показати всьому світу: Маріуполь - це Україна. . Про це пишуть учасники та очевидці події у мережі Facebook. 

Вони тримали в руках плакати з написами “Рашизм, повертайся до Росії”, “Світ по-путінськи” і з карикатурами на російського президента.

Близько 1000 людей вийшли на площу з  національною символікою та плакатами, заявляючи про те, що прифронтове місто є українським.

Мітингарі кажуть, своєю акцією хочуть привернути увагу світової спільноти до того, що проросійські бойовики порушують Мінські домовленості, регулярно обстрілюють навколишні села та загрожують самому місту.

Крім того, маріупольці закликали спостерігачів місії ОБСЄ налагодити ефективний контроль на лінії зіткнення та фіксувати факти порушення перемир'я.
