Журналіст британської газети The Guardian Люк Хардінг заявив, що не писав книгу «Ніхто крім Путіна», яка вийшла друком у видавництві «Алгоритм» з його іменем на обкладинці.

Хардінг також припустив, що колишній держсекретар США Генрі Кіссінджер, чиє ім’я вказане на обкладинці книги «Зрозуміти Путіна», яка вийшла у тій самій серії «Проект «Путін», також не має до неї жодного стосунку. 

Повна назва книги, яку нібито написав Люк Хардінг, - «Ніхто крім Путіна. Чому його визнає російська «система». У передмові до книги Хардінга називають учасником інформаційної війни проти Росії, а газета The Guardian - «ліва опора західного імперіалізму».

«Ні, я не писав «Ніхто крім Путіна»!» - повідомив журналіст у мережі мікроблогів Twitter в суботу, 8 серпня. Він написав про це в коментарі до фотографії з цією книгою в стосі інших видань тієї ж серії, яку опублікував московський кореспондент The Guardian Шон Уокер.

У книзі йдеться про те, що «на вершині російської державної влади ... численні ворожі угрупування конфліктують між собою за частки доходів від величезних сировинних запасів. При цьому правляча еліта твердо переконана в тому, що Володимир Путін - єдиний, хто може гарантувати подальше функціонування даної системи», - зазначено на сайті видавництва.

Люк Хардінг - колишній московський кореспондент The Guardian. У 2011 році йому відмовили у в’їзді в Росію. Хардінг написав про Росію книгу «Мафіозна держава». В одній із статей журналіста стверджувалося, що статки президента РФ складають 40 мільярдів доларів.
