Журналисты европейского новостного телеканала Euronews объявили 24-часовую забастовку в поддержку украинской, персидской и арабской служб, которые руководство канала планирует закрыть или сократить.

Как сообщает «Громадське телебачення» со ссылкой на один из профсоюзов Euronews, забастовка началась в полночь 15 декабря, ее поддержала часть иностранных, а также технических служб телеканала.

Журналисты находятся на рабочих местах, но не готовят выпуски новостей.

"Забастовка также призвана осудить методы менеджмента и недопустимую практику в нашей компании, а также против так называемого «плана спасения рабочих мест». На самом деле это план сокращения рабочих мест", - объясняет на условиях анонимности один из журналистов канала.

Напомним, в октябре стало известно, что из-за недостатка финансирования украинскую службу французской телекомпании Euronews решено закрыть, что повлечет за собой увольнение 17 журналистов. В начале декабря в штаб-квартире телеканала в Лионе прошла предупредительная однодневная забастовка украинской, иранской, арабской и представителей нескольких других языковых редакций.

Спустя несколько дней профсоюз телеканала - Force Ouvrière - выразил недовериеруководству и принял заявление, в котором указано, что данное СМИ не может рассматриваться как независимое и сбалансированное.
