Первыми о дате вспомнили компании, которые размещали product placement в оригинальной картине: PepsiCo выпустила лимитированную серию своего флагманского напитка в дизайне из "Назад в будущее 2", а Nike - кроссовки с самозавязывающимися шнурками, которые примерил в фильме Марти.
Теперь японский автопроизводитель Toyota решил воспользоваться случаем и запустил масштабную рекламную кампанию, лицами которой стали Майкл Джей Фокс и Кристофер Ллойд - актеры, воплотившие на экране главных героев кинотрилогии Марти Макфлая и доктора Эммета Брауна. Партнерство не случайно - Toyota продвигала в кинотрилогии свой пикап Hilux.
Рекламная кампания Toyota по мотивам "Назад в будущее" была разработана всемирно известным креативным агентством Droga5. На данный момент в Сети появились несколько тизерных роликов, которые отсылают в короткометражному фильму, премьера которого состоится, естественно, 21 октября.
