Під час демонстрації 37-річну жінку на ім'я Аях переповнили емоції, а співробітник поліції вирішила втішити її. Обійми "спіймав" фотограф Reuters Ендрю Келлі, і історія з тих пір стала найпопулярнішою на веб-сайті газети Politiken.

Користувачі соціальних мереж також широко розповсюдили фото. Тим часом у місті Хорсхольм данська поліція вперше оштрафувала жінку в нікабі за порушення нового закону.

Будь-хто, хто змушує кого-небудь носити одяг, що закриває обличчя, за допомогою сили або погроз, може бути оштрафований або засуджений до двох років позбавлення волі.

Аналогічні закони діють в Австрії, Франції та Бельгії.
