В китайской провинции Шаньси начала работать солнечная электростанция в форме панды, сообщает Inhabitat, передает телеканал "112 Украина".

Отмечается, что предприятие мощностью 50 мегаватт открыла компания Panda Green Energy при содействии Программы развития ООН.

Темные части фигуры панды, которую лучше всего видно с высоты птичьего полета, состоят из пластин кристаллического кремния, а серые и белые – из тонкопленочных солнечных пластин. Полная проектная мощность солнечной фермы составит 100 мегаватт.

Помимо собственно выработки электричества, на станции планируется открыть обучающий центр для молодежи и школьников по вопросам возобновляемых источников энергии.

Компания Panda Green Energy планирует открыть еще несколько таких предприятий и через 25 лет достичь выработки 3,2 миллиардов киловатт-час, что позволит сэкономить более миллиарда тонн угля и сократить выбросы углекислоты в атмосферу на 2,74 миллиона тонн.

Как сообщалось ранее, в Китае по улицам ездит автобус-панда.
