Пользователи Twitter раскритиковали испанского ретейлера за юбку с изображением интернет-мема лягушонка Пепе, служащего иконой для ультраправого движения. Вслед за критикой бренд убрал с сайта юбку с похожими на мем аппликациями. 

Лягушонок Пепе был создан Мэтом Фари в 2005 году для серии комиксов «Boys Club». Со временем его начали использовать тролли и группы ненависти в онлайне, а в 2016 году он был признан официальным «символом ненависти» Антидиффамационной лигой. Zara не впервые попадает в подобную ситуацию. В 2014 году она вынуждена была убрать с сайта футболки, похожую на еврейскую одежду времен Холокоста.
