В американском штате Мэн прошли третьи по счету Игры для деревенщины. Примечательно, что в этом году организатор турнира Гарольд Брукс был вынужден убрать из названия мероприятия слово «олимпийские» из-за позиции Олимпийского комитета, запретившего использовать такое прилагательное по отношению к событию, не связанному с реальным спортивным движением, сообщает Лента.ru.

Теперь официальное название первенства — (Пропуск) Игры для деревенщины. Как объяснил Брукс, всем и так понятно, какое слово должно стоять на месте этого «пропуска». Словом, ничто не помешало американцам провести эти их Игры.

Участники первенства соревнуются в самых разных дисциплинах: ныряют в лужи с грязью, жгут покрышки, набрасывают сиденья для унитаза на колышки, вылавливают из воды ртом свиные ножки, катаются на газонокосилках и все такое прочее. Короче, проводят время за любимыми занятиями деревенщины. И получают за это (пропуск) награды.
